Let's demonstrate in practice what tasks you need to solve when planting large-sized trees (bushes and trees that have reached certain age and size characteristics).
First of all, this is the choice of the large-sized trees themselves. On the market, you can find offers from sellers who do not understand at all the issues of planting and caring for plants. They sell planting material right by the roads, while the tree is out of the soil for a long time. The guarantees of such people have no legal force, because tomorrow others will stand in their place. The best option is to buy a large-sized tree from a trusted seller who has proven in practice the high survival rate of his plants.
The cost of high-quality planting material is quite high. This is due to the fact that tree nurseries spend a lot of money on planting and growing plants, give serious guarantees for their products, and provide consulting support. Having bought a large-sized tree, entrust its planting to those who have already planted plants and have an idea of how to do it.
A specialist will determine the planting sites. Since trees or bushes should please the customer's eye, they should be placed in places that are easily visible. After this, the planting level of the plant is measured, soil subsidence is taken into account, and access routes for special equipment are determined. If it is not possible to get to the planting site by car with a crane, then a winch is installed here, which helps to plant the tree correctly and successfully.
You also need to choose the right time for planting. Large trees are planted together with a large lump of earth, which contains the root system of the plant. When it is warm outside, it is very difficult to fix the contents of the lump, so the root system may suffer during transportation and planting. To avoid such problems, planting should be done in winter, when the soil around the roots is an ice block. Having planted a large tree in the cold season (when the plant is in suspended animation), in the spring you will be able to watch how the tree becomes covered with greenery and decorates your site.
The pictures show scenes from our work on decorating areas with large trees.
1. The crane boom extension did not allow the birch tree to be planted exactly in the prepared place, so the lump had to be pulled up manually.
2. In winter, preparing a planting site requires serious effort.
3. The most important stage is the careful unloading of the large tree after transportation (the root ball should not be damaged).
4. The prefabricated winch allows you to plant a tree even in places where it is impossible to reach by transport.
