The construction of ponds includes such structures as dredgers. In essence, a dredger is a mechanical structure floating on water, designed for the development of soil at shallow depths. The dredger performs soil redistribution, soil development, underwater soil extraction. The dredger will help in cleaning any reservoir, both an artificial pond and an ordinary reservoir. Also, with the help of a dredger, complex dredging works are carried out, which become easy to perform with this mechanism.
Dredgers are of three types: small and medium, used in hydromechanization, and mini-dredgers, which are used only for cleaning ponds and reservoirs.
A small-sized dredger is a device of a sufficiently small size, designed to carry out work, the required width of which does not exceed 3 meters, and the depth is half a meter. The weight of such dredgers varies depending on the work that needs to be done. But the weight is not less than 3 tons and not more than 50 tons.
Cleaning of ponds and reservoirs is the most important process in the full course of pond construction. The condition of the soil and water directly affects the condition of the plants and fish living in the pond.
Approaching the issue more deeply, we can distinguish the following types of work performed by the dredger: pumping out pulp (a mixture of water and soil obtained hydraulically), deepening work using a rake and a reverse bucket, cleaning the bottom, driving piles from the water in order to strengthen the coastlines.
